Outdoor Activities

While camping is the primary attraction for most of the properties located in the Chattahoochee National Forest, there are still many things to do while visiting the National Forest.

Each location has something different to offer:



Deep Hole Recreation Area is on the Toccoa River, you may enjoy fishing or canoeing here.

Desoto Falls Recreation Area has a hiking trail to the falls for those that like to hike.

Lake Winfield Scott Recreation Area has a small lake which offers fishing from the fishing pier as well as swimming along the beach area of the lake. There are also several trails for those that enjoying hike.

Lakewood Landing is a boat ramp on the Blue Ridge Lake, this is one of the few places to access on Blue Ridge Lake.

Morganton Point Recreation Area has a beach area along Blue Ridge Lake as well as a boat ramp. Many enjoy fishing, swimming and just relaxing under the sun at this beautiful location.

Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area is also located on the Toccoa River, where you can enjoy fishing and canoeing also.
